Picture Post

This post will be mostly
pictures... since they
say it all anyways!
These were taken with
my  new Canon Rebel
at our house and
at Cindy's for Christmas dinner.
We have a BIG family. The
picture with all of us... it still
is missing 15 people. We counted
who wasn't there. But, that was
the majority that day! Just picture
aboug 6 more girls and 9 more
boys in the picture and you have it complete!

Whew!

and Christmas makes 6

This Christmas will be
mine and D's 6th together.
6th. where did these 6
years go!? I have no idea.
Somewhere in between, however,
we have had two beautiful children,
rented an apartment, bought
our first home, one of us has graduated
from college, and the other will be
graduating in May (whoo!), and have
too many blessings to count.  How
thankful I am for the past 6 years!
Derek and I will be together 6 years
actually in May of 2011, but we started
dating in May of 2005.. so this makes 6
years. He was arguing with me about
it just last night. I know every day and
important happening in our life.
May 26, 2005- we started "talking" (HA)
November 2005- I told him I loved him first.
December 2005- He told me he loved me back.
yes, it took him a month to tell me.
September 27, 2006- our lives changed forever.
Kyler Channing was born.
July 31, 2007- D proposed at the lake by
my grandmother's house.
May 24, 2008- wedding day!
December 9, 2009- found out we
were having another baby!
February 11, 2010- found out it was a girl!
May 8, 2010- D graduates from MUW!
July 1, 2010- Harper Layne Whitworth
May 4, 2011- still to come.. but I am
graduating.. FINALLY! WHOO!!!!

Here are some pictures starting
with our first Christmas. :)

Christmas 2005- scanned picture...
Christmas 2006. Couldn't find one during December of all of us!

Christmas Festivities!

With Christmas quickly
approaching.. and man is it
ever approaching... we have been
busy busy with parties, plays, musicals,
cards, decorating, baking, and wrapping.
I am pooped. And it isn't even the big day yet!

We have been reading Christmas/winter
books every night before bed to keep up
with Christmas. :) Good thing I ordered ALL
those books from Scholastic. I love them.
Great prices. Awesome books. And I will
NEVER get rid of them. Greatness.

We also took the kids to see the big man
yesterday. And by big man, I mean...
the big man himself. Santa. Let me just say
that this year Kyler is in full Santa mode.
He actually gets the whole concept of
big S and the awe of him. It is so fun!
We walked by him yesterday to go in
a store first and Kyler ran right into a woman
from stretching his neck staring at Santa!
BTW- my child is a total ladies man. He waved
at EVERY teenage girl and grown woman
in the mall. Every one of them. He just smiled
that coy smile of his and waved his cute little
wave. I stopped looking at him every time
when I could just hear the girls "awe"ing and
giggling that a studd muffin of a 4 year old
was waving at them. I am in for it!

Today is Kyler's school play! They are
singing some songs and Kyler got asked
to recite a bible verse about Christmas.
He is doing Luke 2:11... "Today a Savior
has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord."
I know it by heart, too, from practicing!
They all will do so good. Pictures to come
of that of course! For now, here is my
sweet babies with Jolly ole' St. Nick.
Pretty good Santa, I thought! :)

Lunch Date!

Today I let Kyler stay home from
school.. partially because it was WAY
too cold to get out to go to school,
and partially because we had a lunch date
with Rachel, baby Hayden, and Chelsea!
We met at McAlisters and just hung out
for at least two hours. Catching up and
taking pictures, of course.  We had our
own little photo session right in the middle
of the restaurant! Perfect. I got to love on
sweet baby Hayden, and Rachel and Chelsea
got to love on Kyler and Harper.  K, H,
and baby H all exchanged their gifts! We
all had the best time. It was so good to catch
up and see my sweet friends! And I could
not stop holding Hayden. I love him. He makes
the funniest faces!  I enjoyed my time with
them so much. Rachel and Chelsea are such
sweet friends and they both hold a special
place in my heart! Love you, girls!
Now, on the the pictures! :)

 kyler, chelsea, and harper!
 hayden!
 see his funny face?!
 kyler, rachel, and harper!
good friends! it's chelsea's turn to get married
and have a baby! :)

Lately

Yea, yea.. I know it's been
a while... sue me, Micaa.
I have been busy! It's
the Christmas season..
so I have been shopping.
baking, nursing a sick
baby, and visiting with
family! Long stories
short...
Harper has an ear infection.
Same one since November.
On our 3rd round of antibiotics.
If this doesn't work...
tubes are next. Pray this works!
Kyle, Jayme, and Carley came
up this weekend, so we have been spending
time with them! We went ice skating.
WHOOO!!! It was so fun! It'sjust
like regular skating, but on ice of course.
I have done the majority of my Christmas
shopping online. And it is the best. thing. ever.
seriously.  Almost everyday I have
gotten a package right to my door and
I didn't have to leave the house. AND I
got the same deals as everyone else did
on Black Friday AND free shipping.
Amazing. And so convenient!  Besides
shopping and getting ready for Santa,
we have made an advent calendar, played
endless hours, Harper has learned to
pretty much sit alone, Kyler and D
have been going to Lowe's for the build
and grow thing they do twice a month.
You sign up and you take your child and
they get to build something there and
bring it home! AND... the best part...
IT'S FREE! :) Free fun for
kids. Can't get any better than that.
They have been building 3 parts
to a train this month and next month
it's some kind of game box. Fun times.

Kyler and the rest of the kids in
Children's Church went to the
local nursing home to sing carols
to the elderly and give out
handmade blankets they made at church.
They loved it! We all had a good
time and the people there were
just smitten with the kids.
It was good for them to do something
for others. I think Kyler had
the most fun. He sang every song
he knew at the top of his lungs and
talked and talked to the little old women
there. He loved them just as much
as they loved him. :) He's a little
heartbreaker.

I'll leave you with a long post
of pictures from the past week.
Enjoy the last couple of weeks
until Ho Ho comes! Or as
Kyler used to say, "Hanta Caus"
comes! WHOO! 13 days! :)

 in front of our tree.
just got back from his first trip to Lowe's
 with his certificate and masterpiece.
 little miss H
 about to go ice skating!

me, k, and carley
 family ice skaters
d doesn't even know how to regular skate.
children's church at the nursing home
had to have one by himself.

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 30!

Day 30- A single picture.

For these two blessings, I am forever thankful.
And, I LOVE kyler's expression looking
at his baby sister here. So authentic!

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 29

Day 29- Wishes

I can sit and think of lots
of things that I wish for
or want or whatever..
but my REAL wishes...
they are pretty simple,
and are, for the most
part, coming true everyday.

I wish for:
- a happy, healthy family.
-adding more years to my remission
from Hodgkins
-strong, steadfast marriage
-continual growth in the Lord
-a life full of laughter and tears (happy ones)
-days and nights filled with
family and friends around me

See. I'm a simple girl when it
comes down to the serious
things in life. :)

5 Months

Harper Layne is 5 months old!
Gah. This time next month she
will be starting school where
Kyler goes. SAD FACE. I hope
she can deal.. or rather THEY can deal
with her temper she has. And yes,
for those of you who swear she never
cries.. you will see. Trust me.  She has
gotten completely spoiled to anyone
and everyone talking to her.. so she
thinks that she has to be talked to 24/7.
Seriously.  She will wake up if it is
quiet and no one is talking.
Anyways... here are some things
about 5 month old Harper and some
pictures from today!

Harper likes to:
-chew on her fingers. She
can put her whole fist in her mouth. No joke.
-play with her feet. Or foot rather.
I think she thinks she only has a left foot.
She never plays with her right one.

-watch Kyler. she is amazed by him
and will watch him do anything.

- eat. and eat a lot.  She eats 2's
food (that isn't supposed to start until
6 months) and handles it like a champ.
Can't get enough of it!

-roll over. She recently learned
this new trick and thinks it is hilarious.

-whine. D says she has that 'girl whine'
whatever that means. ha. I say
she sounds like Chewbacca from
Star Wars when she is whining/crying.

-watch cartoons. in the morning
when kyler is getting ready for school,
she will sit in her high chair and watch
Inspector Gadget and Pink Panther.

-be held. all the time. of course.
I don't know how this one will
work when she goes to school....
Bless her teachers!

Harper weighs in at 20 lbs even
and is 26" long. BIG GIRL! :)
She has rolls on her rolls!
But she is happy all the time,
so I love it!

Happy 5 Months, Harper!!!
