30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 27

Day 27- Pets

I used to have lots of
dogs when I was little..
but now we just have fish.
And one dog. Actually,
he is Kyler's dog that he got
for his birthday. Thanks to
my friend Rebecca.
We have a 30 gallon tank
with 5 fish in it. Used to be about
8 fish. Who knows why
some of them died... And
can ANYONE tell me WHY
our tank will not stay clear?!
We spend HOURS, and I mean
hours, cleaning it out, changing
the water, putting the chemicals,
changing the food.... and it only
stays clear for about a week.
Then it turns cloudy and green.
And then it will get so cloudy
that you can't even tell that there
are fish in there! Honestly! I count
them when I feed them to make
sure they are still alive because
I can't see them. It is so annoying.
The tank is so pretty when it is
clear and we love watching
them swim around.. but we hate
when it is dirty and cloudy and
you can't see them. D and I
have decided that we aren't cleaning
it out anymore. We are going to
get rid of the fish and the tank.
We really don't want to, but
we can't keep taking literally a whole
day out of our time every week to
clean out the stupid tank. UGH.
anyways... so I don't have a picture
of the tank clear, and I sure don't
want to put up the tank as what it
looks like now... so here is
Copper, Kyler's half chihuahua/half jack russell.

Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

We had ours in the community center
this year because we are growing
too much to have it at someone's house!
We decorated it all nice and fall looking
the night before! It turned out so pretty!
Everyone came and we ate and ate
and ate.. and ate some more.
And i brought about 5 plates
home with me. So we are still eating...
All in all, it was a great day!
Here are some pictures before
we all got miserably full. :)

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 26

Day 26- Picture of Family

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 25

Day 25- Favorite Song

Why are these all about
one particular thing? Who
has only one favorite song?!

Well, I have a bizillion songs
that I just love and think are
totally awesome, but I do
only have a select few that
I can listen to over and over
again and never ever
tire of. ever.

1.  Dave Matthews Band: Crash.

2.  Journey- Don't Stop Believin'
(over and over and over and over)

3.  Chris White Band - Jesus Paid It All
(this band is AWESOME. they come to our
Covenant Weekend every year)

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 24

Day 24- Something learned

Something learned.
Well, I have learned a lot
in my 24 years of life...
but the most important
things I have learned are:

1. Family should come
first in your life, right after God.
2.  If you can't get along with
family, who else do you have?
3. Children are God's gifts to us.
4.  Marriage takes work.
And patience.
5.  Some things never change.
6. Some things change drastically!
7.  It takes longer than 4
years to graduate from college.
8. Sleeping through the night
no longer exists with children.
9.  Sleeping through the night
no longer exists with a husband.
10.  Sometimes, you gotta just take
a deep breath and let things go.

New Do

This post could qualify for
Day 24 of the challenge,
which is Something you
have learned.. but I'll
think of something else
for that I am sure. :)

It all started Friday night.
I have been needing to get
my hair done (i get highlights)
really bad... but with the holidays
coming, we didn't really have the
$ to pay for it... So I was trying
to help D out and decided to
get a box of color from the store.
We went to D's mom's house and she
did it for me. Piece of cake. Looked
really good all over, except for a couple
of pieces at the very top. Kinda spotted.
So she went back and put some more
of the color over it to see if it would
blend in. Can you guess?!

Ya, it didn't blend. I washed it out
and it was ORANGE. and when I say
orange, I mean it. Not gold, not blond,
ORANGE. And NO, I do not have
a picture of it. So, of course I was
almost in tears. I mean.. I am by NO MEANS
high maintenance.. but when it comes
to my hair, I get emotional.  I have always
had really blond hair with all kinds of
colors of blond highlights. And most of the
time it has been long and flowy... And I try
to keep it that way. I was hysterical.
I called my hairdresser, who of course
was/is on vacation!!!! I didn't know what to do.
If you are like me, then you only have
one person who can do anything to your hair
too.  She has done my hair for about 10
years now. No one else will do. Until now.
The only other person I would let touch
my hair was my only option. I called her,
which she works in the same salon, and
told her my story. She worked me in
for today and fixed it. But it's not blond.
The only thing I could do to it was go
brown because if I put more blond
bleach on it, my hair would have broken.
BROKEN? no way.  So, reluctantly
I sat while she put brown color all
over my hair. For the first time in
my life something other than
platinum blond was on my head.
Everyone seems to like it...
I am still getting used to it. It is
OK for right now.. but in a few
weeks when I can put color on it
again, I am sure I will be back
to my highlights. Most definitely.

So, moral of the story...
there is a reason why women
pay $$$ to get their hair done.
A good reason. And I for
sure will never do it at home again.
Ever. The end.

 before.... a while back.

 after!

sweet H.

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 23

Day 23- Favorite vacation

Favorite vacation? I don't
know that it would be called
a vacation, but I sure had the
time of my life there! D and I
went to Cody, Wyoming on a
mission trip with our church
last summer. Can you say
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G?
We went there to paint
and put a new roof on the
church buildings there.  The
pastor there, Mark King,
is from Aberdeen and used
to go to FBC... so of course
we went to help! It is pure
God's country there, let me
tell you. I mean, everywhere
you look there are mountains,
rivers, lakes, more mountains,
the sun, the clouds, more
mountains...just breath
taking, really.  On our last
day there, we got to go to
Yellowstone, which was by far
the coolest place ever! There is
something about seeing animals
in their natural habitat and being
in an environment that is untouched
by hunting and logging and things..
It is so peaceful. You can really have
some serious talks with the big Man
above for sure. Anyways, that trip
was nothing but pure joy for me and I
got so much out of it spiritually and
mentally. And i took TONS of pictures.
897 to be exact. in 6 days. Want
me to put up all of them!?

Just kidding. Here are  just
some of the ones from our
grand trip up north!

Heart Mountain. Looks like an Indian chief's head...

Katie, Meme, Emily, Taylor, me, and Valerie on the roof!

oh yea, snow on the mountains. in july!

such CALM, clear water. looks like a postcard, no?

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 22

Day 22- Favorite City

Does this mean your favorite
city you have been to or
just your favorite just because?!
I don't know what they want!

And who can have a favorite
anyways?!

Branson, MO. Love this place!
Has the best little shopping areas
and so much history!

And Chattanooga, TN. LOVE
this place even more.  The scenery
in itself is enough to want to live
there all the time. We will
live here one day. I just know it.

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 21

Day 21- Picture of yourself

I am behind a day on the challenge,
so I'll do 2 today. This one
should be easy enough! Just post
a picture of myself! I'ma do
a couple....and they are old.
I just don't really like any of
my recent pictures!

30 Day Blog Challenge- Day 20

Day 20- Nicknames

I don't really have but like 3
nicknames that I can think of
that aren't just like, "Jen"..
which I am NOT fond of,
by the way. D introduced
me to his ENTIRE family as
Jen, and of course, it stuck.
So I have learned to deal with it,
but I still cringe sometimes when
I hear it. I just have never liked
my name to be shortened.  My name
is Jennifer. Not anything less.

Anyways...now that I have my rant
over with, on to the nicknames
I do have:

1. Chickadee. My grandmother calls
me this and has ever since I was little.
Either that or Candi, which is my mother's
name. After all these years, she still
can't keep us straight!

2.  Roo. This one came out of nowhere
I think from Mo . Ha. MicaaMo I think
is how it started and then I was Jenniferoo,
then Jennaroo or something like that.
I can't quite remember... But now, we just
say Roo and Mo sometimes when we talk
to each other. Friends thing I guess.

3.  Jena Lou.  D calls me this all the time.
He has called me by Jennifer MAYBE
5 times in the almost 6 six years we have
been together. It's either Jen or Jena Lou.
Who knows..........

Stay tuned for Christmas decor pics!

30 Day Challenge- Day 19

Day 19- Something you miss

Something I miss...
I had to think about this one
for a bit. I mean, what things
do I actually MISS when I think
about them?

- my apartment. i love our house
now, but my Jess Lyons apt.
was our first little home and it was
so cozy. and everything in it was
brand new. :)

- believing in Santa. life was much
easier then.

-elementary school. snack time,
recess, no face break outs,
no boyfriends, no responsibility.
i think i'll keep k and h little forever.

-my old Impala. man I loved that car.
loved loved loved it. too bad
I don't have a picture of it. :(

-Goody's. who in the world
decided to close it?! My cutest
clothes came from there. Gah.

-my FAVORITE jeans
(Duck Head brand from the
store that no longer exists)
that now have too many holes
and patch marks to wear them
anywhere. bummer.

-seeing this face whenever
I want to: ( and my hair being
this short.)
-seeing this other face all the time:

Chunky Monkey

Can we say LEGS?
look at those juicy legs!
Yes, I said juicy. A lady at Dirt
Cheap came up to me one day
and said, "Laawd, you is blessed.
She is juicy! Look how juicy dat
baby is." And that was about 2 months
ago. She's bigger since then. But I don't
mind. I think they are precious and
want her to keep all her rolls! They
will fall off soon enough when she starts
crawling and such...
Here are some pictures from the last
few days. Looking at these I realized
how beautiful my children are.  God has
made them beautifully and wonderfully for
me and everyone else to enjoy. And they
are just that. Pure joy. :)

Happy Thursday!

oh yea, she totally fell asleep like this
watching cartoons!

 sibling love :)

this is the product of my husband
being bored. :)

 cool kid.
