It's Official!

Yes, that is right.. I am officially a graduate
of Mississippi University for Women.
As in, I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree
in Elementary Education with concentration
areas in English and Social Science and a Computer
Applications Add-on. Ya. That's what I said.
I know I graduated with many other people, most of
who have been living at home, not working, have no
husband and/or kids, and have it made.  I also know
there are people that have husbands and kids, are working,
or other things while they were in school.
I am proud of everyone.  But this has been a long road for me.
I should have been finished a long time ago, but life
happened and time had to slow down for bit.  But it finally came
and now it has gone.  May 7 was a huge day in my life.
Now, BJ (mil), D, and I are all alums of the W! Wow! :)

Here's the run down of how the grad day went:;

 5:15 alarm went off
6:00 got the hubs up
8:00 out the door and rollin'
8:20 arrived at MUW with family
9:00 lined up in Painter Hall
9:15 still lined up in Painter
9:30 STILL lined up
9:45 impatiently waiting at this point, everyone was
10:00 we FINALLY started walking!
10:05 walked in Rent Auditorium and sat down
11:09 walked across stage and received my
EMPTY degree holder. ha.
11:23 turned our tassels from the right to the left
11:27 graduation commencement is OVER
11:30 walked out of Rent Auditorium a new person

The next two hours consisted of pictures, pictures, and more pictures.
Obviously. It was a grand day. Everyone was there.
The weather was gorgeous.  My kids were on their
best behavior.  All was well with the world.

Then came the p.a.r.t.y. We had a dinner at Ruben's Steakhouse
to celebrate my graduating.  And you know how you send
invitations out and usually only about half the people show up?!
Well, literally EVERYONE I invited came. Except one person.
So... that means I had 37 people there, in a room for 25.  It turned
out great, though, and we all had a fabulous time.  It was so good
to have my closest family and best of friends around me at
such an important time in my life.  And I got awesome presents!
Micaa, yes she drove all the way from Escatawpa just to eat dinner
with me!, ave me the prettiest stationary, clipboard, note pad set.
It is so dainty and fresh looking! Love it! BJ, mil, gave me a Cricut (score!)
and a new purse/bag. I've been whining about needing a new one. :)
Everyone else put some green in my cards.  And there is NOTHING wrong
with that! :) Always can use that stuff! The night went on and it was
perfect. Really. Perfect.  We laughed and talked really loud and cut up
until we were all worn out.  Definitely will go down a night in my books!

Thank you to everyone who played a part in my graduation.  It took
a long time, but I couldn't have done it without my advisers, teachers, mentor
teachers, family, and friends.  Mostly, my closet friend, Micaa... she always
encouraged me and helped me get through a lot.  And BJ. She has been down
the same road as I just traveled, and she helped me out more than anyone.
She told me what to expect; and she was always right! And of course,
my sweet D.  He was the FULL pusher and encourager all the time.  Endless
talks and long nights of getting through classes and homework.  He always
took over the reins of the house when I needed to do work and had lesson
plans to write.  D has sacrificed a lot for me, and he continues to do so.
Now it is my turn to work and support him while he goes back to school.

We don't know what the future holds; we just know that we have a Plan A,
Plan B, Plan C, and a Plan D. Ya. We are prepared.  And probably
none of those will work the way we "planned," but that is OK, too.
God knows what he wants with us; and that is all that matters.

Here's to a new chapter in my life as new TEACHER, and our
life as a new family together! :)

Now, I need a job. HELP!
